The study by the firm Deplasse & Associés assesses the socio-economic impacts of the Hainaut Loop, a new 380 kV power line between Avelgem and Courcelles. It focuses on the economic benefits for the province of Hainaut in terms of added value and jobs. Three types of impacts are analyzed: on local industry, electricity prices, and infrastructure construction. The analysis is based on public and technical data provided by Elia. The scientific rigor of the study is validated by Professor Marcus Dejardin.

This study highlights four major lessons concerning the strategic importance of the Hainaut Loop for the economic, energy and industrial development of the province of Hainaut and Belgium.
